We are happy to announce a new online Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) through Beanstack, an online reading and activity tracker.
We have adapted our annual SRC to the new reality of uncertainty and the need to keep everyone safe. We hope that you will be patient with us as we navigate a new way of doing things, and that you’ll ‘roll with the punches’ if we find we need to make changes and adjustments this summer. This is new territory for ALL of us. What isn’t new is our commitment to encouraging summer reading, especially in our youngest patrons, and our commitment to providing you the best resources and services we are capable of. Thank you for your understanding.
Everyone who is able to is encouraged to use the Beanstack website or mobile app this year to log their reading and activities. No internet access? Give us a call at 517-265-2265 and we’ll go over the alternative.
There are four different Challenges based on age or grade (next school year)
For each Challenge, keep track of which days you read (or listen) and complete activities. As you read, earn raffle entries in our end-of-the summer drawing for prizes.
Click on each age group to take you to the specifics of those Challenges.
Early Literacy Ages 0 – 3 (3 year olds may participate in this Challenge or the Kids’ one described below)
Kids Preschool – 6th grade (next school year)
Teens 6th – 12th grade. New 6th graders may choose either the Kids or Teens Challenge.
Adults Ages 18+. Any rising high school seniors who are already 18 may do either the Teens or Adults Challenges.
