The library is now accepting applications for our Summer Volunteen program. The Volunteen program will run from June 10 - Aug. 10, 2019 and is open to teens who will be in grades 7-12 this fall.
Volunteens will help the library staff run the annual Summer Reading Challenge, help prepare for programs, assist at storytimes and other events. Volunteens will also preform general library tasks such as shelving items and straightening up the Youth and Teen departments.
Volunteers will generally work from 2 – 4 hours once a week. Vacations can be accommodated; however, volunteens are expected to be available at least 5 of the 9 weeks.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, gain work experience, and stay busy during the summer. Also, being a Volunteen can fulfill community service requirements for school, scouts, church, etc.
Pick up an application at the Adrian District Library or print one out here. All applicants must have their parent or guardian sign the permission section of the application. Return the application to the library by Wednesday, May 22. Volunteer opportunities are limited, so get your application in early. There will be an orientation at the library on Monday, June 3 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
