Kids' Summer Reading Challenge
The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to encourage a daily habit of reading and to Learn; Create; Explore; Serve.
Online pre-registration begins June 1. Logging of reading and activities begins June 5.
Read and Bead: Earn beads and Brag Tags to add to a chain necklace as you read.
To Get Started:
--Register for a Beanstack account by clicking here.
--Parents/guardians can create one Beanstack Family account and add all family members to the account as Readers.
--Already have a Beanstack account from previous Challenges? Simply log into your current account.
--Sign up each family member for the appropriate Reading Challenge based on their age or grade.
--Download the Beanstack app from the App Store or Google Play Store to make logging super simple.
--Want a paper log? Download and print one here.
--Don't have reliable internet access and/or a printer? Stop in the library to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and to take home a paper log.
How it Works:
--Open to preschool through rising 6th graders (6th graders may choose /280/summer-reading Teen Read instead)
--Check out the /295/early-literacy Early Literacy Challenge for Babies and Toddlers.
--Goal: Read or listen 20 minutes a day, reading whatever you want.
--Receive a free book and a Read and Bead kit (chain necklace, bead, Brag Tag) just for signing up!
--For each day of reading, log it on your Beanstack account or paper log.
--Every 7 logged days will earn one raffle entry for our prize drawing at the end of the summer and a set of beads to add to your necklace.
--Complete 30 days of reading: earn a free book and another Brag Tag.
--Read 50 days: receive another book.
--Complete the activities on the "Read. Learn. Create. Explore." badge - choose a prize from the Treasure Box
